Dwelling In The Secret Place Of The Most High God Psalm 91
Protection is Better than Cure is based on Psalm 91, which is known as the Protective Psalm.
What are Psalms?
Meditate on it. Meditate on the Word of God, and it will transform your life. Psalms are songs, praises, or hymns offered to our loving Father God, the creator of the heavens and the earth.
Why is Psalm 91 important?
Psalm 91 is a treasure house full of spiritual riches. I cannot remember how many times God has rescued me from crises as I meditated on this Psalm. Thousands turn to it for protection. It is a great source of wisdom and comfort. It is full of protective truths that, if meditated on, can save your life from any destruction.
But remember, all this is due to the Word of God, Jesus the Christ. He has already accomplished everything for us. On the cross, He said, “IT IS FINISHED.” After His resurrection, He sent the Holy Spirit, who dwells in you, to guide and lead you into all truth. He is the one teaching you how to meditate on the word and renew your mind.
Listen to this Psalm carefully. Our focus is on health and wholeness. Take one verse at a time. Digest it, ponder it from all angles. Take each verse and believe these truths are sinking deep into your subconscious mind. This Psalm embraces every part of your life. Plant this Psalm into your subconscious mind, and each verse will be resurrected in your daily life like a seed planted in the ground. Seeds grow after their own kind. If you want to reap Jesus’ finished work, sow scriptures that will germinate the same. This is what prayer and meditation are.
What is meditation?
Meditation is thinking about something, dwelling on it so that it becomes a part of you. To meditate is to give your attention to something, an idea, some truths, like the word of God. True meditation transforms. So, you will appropriate what you meditate on. You demonstrate what you meditated on.
Today, we are meditating on “Dwelling in the secret place.” Alright, let’s read Psalm 91:1-2:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” KJV
What is this secret place? Where is the secret place?
If you are like me, the answer may blow your mind. The secret place is you and me. God dwells in you. 1 Cor 3:16 says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” How many Christians know this verse but never associate it with Psalm 91? I was one of them for a long time. But when I discovered the truth, my life changed. My approach to prayer changed beyond measure. When I talk to God, I know that He is in me, and I am just releasing my faith to receive what He has already accomplished for me. I no longer beg and strive in prayer. If He dwells in me, then the kingdom of God is within me.
If you are struggling in prayer, one of the secrets is to know that you are the temple of God. He dwells in you together with all His anointing and power. Jesus.
Meditate on the fact that the Holy Spirit is guiding you. 1 John 2:27 says, “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you
concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” Who is teaching me? Who is guiding you and me into all truth? The Holy Spirit. John 14:26 says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
Are you sick? Do you need deliverance from pain, lack, fear? Romans 8:11 says, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Hallelujah. He put His spirit in you. He put Himself in you. He gave you a free will. He advised you to choose life. So, choose life. Awaken the sleeping giant in you by meditating on the word of God and by acknowledging His presence in you. Dwelling in the secret place of the Most High God is realizing that He dwells in you. Then you start fellowshipping with Him from within, where you walk and talk to God Almighty, the only presence and power, the living Spirit from within. Turn your focus away from the problem and give your attention to the word of God, knowing that the Spirit of God is flowing through you, responding to you. For whatever you claim and believe to be true, the Spirit of the Almighty will move on your behalf. You do not look for Him from other places. Heaven is within you. When your thoughts are God’s thoughts, then His power is your power. His life is your life. You bear fruit. Hallelujah.
