Can you imagine the benefits of pineapple combined with the benefits of wheatgrass or millet grass? MIf you are taking  wheatgrass juice to counteract side effets or other desperate condition, it is vital you take it as fresh as possible, in liquid form so it gets to the cell as soon as possible. Therefore the most effective form of wheatgrass to your cell is the pure wheatgrass juice “neat”.  But since many are discouraged by the taste, mixing wheatgrass juice with other fresh nourishing juices is an inevitable stage. Some health gurus recommend using vegetable juices like; cucumber, celery, kale and that is a fact. but we have found that the majority of those who try these excellent vegetable juices give up after the second day; again because of the taste. “An apple a day will keep the doctor away.” Don’t take that saying lightly. Apples are a good source of vitamin C, an antioxidant that protects your body’s cells, keeps your blood vessels healthy and aids in the absorption of iron and folate.

Recent studies suggest that apples are also rich in (phytonutrients,) which are believed to have powerful antioxidants that have been linked to lowered risk of many chronic and age related diseases.  These studies suggest that (phytonutrients) support and promote good health. Some of the benefits of (phytonutrients)

  • Reduce the risk of certain cancers
  • Protect against brain cell damage
  • Reduce the risk of heart disease
  • Reduce the risk of asthma

You may be one of those who need to use fruits like apples in moderation. Fruits contain fructose, a type of sugar, associated with many chronic health problems when consumed in excess. If you are insulin resistant (are overweight, diabetic, or have high cholesterol), restrict the amount of fruit juice you consume a day.

Wheatgrass Smoothies

As you start feeling stronger and better, you may start whole juicing your pineapple, ginger, apple and lemon. This another milestone because it enables you to introduce whole juices (healthy smoothies in your lifestyle)

Choose your juicer to

Since most homes possess blenders, it is important to distinguish between juicers and blenders. The main difference between juicers and blenders is that: when blenders are used for juicing they produce smoothies (juice, thickened with the pulp of the fruit or vegetable, which is beaten to minute pieces to form a relatively thick juice) whereas juicers produce juice with the pulp strained out (concentrated juice with no pulp) Grasses need a special juicer called wheatgrass juicer which is different from traditional juicer.

To get the maximum benefit from juicing, you need to buy the right juicer. Juicers that can take whole fruits and vegetables, produce whole juices. These are really a type of blender like VTAMIX, BLENDTEC, etc. Even the traditional juicers come in sizes and types. I have used a Jack LaLanne Juicer for more than 10 years. I have also used a LEXEN wheatgrass juicer for more than 13 years and they are both still in good condition. Do your homework. Buy what suits your pocket and need.

Though the traditional juices (pure and strained) are assimilated faster and are relatively easier to the body in stress, whole juices (whole fruit or vegetable through a high speed blender without heating up the juice), are becoming very popular for the general healthy lifestyle. This is because whole food juicing uses the whole fruit or vegetable, just as nature intended. Using the whole fruit or vegetable provides all the micro-nutrients needed to fully utilize the whole fruit and vegetables. Additionally, this method of juicing helps maintain blood sugar levels since it provides far more fiber than traditional juicing. So choose your juicers with the required benefits in mind. While traditional juicing is great, there are some drawbacks which whole juicing address

Whole food juicing generally is far better for your health than traditional juicing if you can handle the juice:

  • It is less expensive to whole juice, you intensely decrease the amount of vegetables and fruit needed to make one glass of juice.
  • Whole Food Juicing is more nutritious and better for you since you use the whole fruit or vegetable and not just the juice. Traditional juicing cannot extract all these nutrients in the skin and in the pulp which is normally thrown away.
  • Whole Juicing is rich in fiber which is important for digestion and maintaining stable blood sugar levels.
  • Whole Juicing is much easier and less messy.
  • Whole Juices are more filling and more nourishing because they have pulp and take longer to digest.
